Portraits and Figures
Who?
For now I (Emily Silver) am the one and only teacher at Silver Studios.
This class is for young artists ages 14-17
What?
This teen class dives deeper into creating realistic and stylized portraits and figures. These young artists will work towards mastering the skill of proportion and creating accurate and expressive illustrations and paintings of the human form and face.
Some of the projects that we may complete are:
Realistic Self Portraits
Abstract portraits
Stylized Figures
Gesture Drawing
Where?
This class will take place from the comfort of your own home while in a zoom class with me from my home studio.
When?
This class will take place on Saturday's at 11am est.
The first free class will be on Saturday January 10, 2026 @ 11am est

Why?
For these teen artists who are really developing their skills, portraits and figures are an important part of their foundation of skills. For artists who will be applying to arts schools, skills in recognizing the human form, facial expressions, and the practice in gesture drawing that accompanies this course will provide a strong foundation that will set them ahead in their freshman years.
How?
The only supplies that you/your young artist will need for this course is paper, drawing materials. Coloring tools are a great option to also have, but not necessary.
This course will cost $300 total for 10 classes.
