Drawing and PAINTING
Who?
For now I (Emily Silver) am the one and only teacher at Silver Studios.
This class is for young artists ages 10-14.
What?
In this drawing and painting class we are diving into composition, color, and mastering a variety of 2D creation tools. We will work with a range of inspiration from nature to architecture to animation while building our skills with both dry and wet media.

Comics and Illustrations
Cities and Perspective Drawings
Traditional vs. Non-traditional painting tools
Illustrated Vocabulary
Where?
This class will take place from the comfort of your own home while in a zoom class with me from my home studio.
When?
The first free class will be on Saturday at 10am est.
The first free class will be on Saturday April 11, 2026.

Why?
The skills developed through drawing and painting are the basis of so many of the art practices that follow. Learning these skills will provide a foundation for young artists to progress into more advanced and developed practices including graphic and industrial design, architecture, sculpture, installations and more.
How?
For this course the artist will need papers suitable for dry and wet media. This could include printer paper, sketchbook paper, watercolor paper, canvas, cardboard, chipboard, wood panels.
For mark making tools we will need pencils (a range of graphite is ideal but not necessary), erasers, rulers at least 12" long, pens, and watercolor paint.

This course will cost $250 total for 10 classes. (225 if class ends up being 9 classes)
